Iva Jonnie Smith

Iva Jonnie Smith 82, passed away in Owasso, Ok. to her Heavenly Home on January 28th, 2026. She was born December 18th, 1943 in Stigler to her parents Houston and Eunice "Wortham" Brittain. She grew up in the Rocky Ridge area where she attended Elementary School until 1950 when she moved with her family to Sentinel, Oklahoma with her 4 brothers and her 2 sisters. She loved swimming in the creek with her brothers and sisters. She accepted Christ as her Savior at First Baptist Church Sentinel. The family picked cotton to make ends meet. She graduated from Port High School in 1961 where she excelled in basketball and softball. She got married in December 1961 to Wayne F. Caton, and moved to Broken Arrow in1963 where she started a family, and had 3 children. She cleaned houses, and had two businesses. She later married Dale Smith on July 9th, 1982 and moved to Catoosa. They loved to fish and ride in the boat. They also loved Sunday dinners with the family. Her and Dale moved to California to finish Dale's retirement. They moved back to Catoosa where they lived until Dale passed away. She later moved to Owasso in 2022. Her hobbies included Arts and Crafts, loved painting, fishing, and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of Quinton First Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 Daughters, Louise McDaniel and husband Lance of Catoosa, Sherry Buechline and husband Billy of Claremore; 1 Step-Daughter, Renee Denton of Sand Springs; 9 Grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Jennifer, Tephanie, Billy, Denise, Katie, Keith, Justin; 8 Great Grandchildren, Colton, Greyson, Remington, Gunner, River, Koa, Travis, Harper. She is preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Eunice "Wortham" Brittain; her husband, Roger Smith; 1 son, Danny Caton; 2 Sisters, Anna Bell Riddle, Bertlynne Cunnington; 4 Brothers, C.W. Brittain, Archie Brittain, Buddy Brittain, Gerald Brittain; 1 Great Granddaughter, Lily Osburn. Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel. Officiating the service will be Reverend Eddie Dye. Eulogist will be Mr. Wayne Brittain. Pallbearers will be Jacob Ham, Billy Buechline, Dustin Potter, Tony Gougler, Kyle Osburn, Wayne Brittain. Interment will follow at Lona Valley Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
