Ruth Theresa Bergantini

Ruth Theresa Bergantini, 93, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was the wife of the late John A. Bergantini.

Ruth was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Waltham, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa McNamee, sister of Ellen, Alice, Myrtle, Jenny, and Elaine.

She graduated in 1950 from St. Charles in Waltham and entered the convent at the age of 19. Ruth was a nun (Sister Jean Theresa) at Sisters of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT from 1951to1970, where she graduated from St. Joseph College with her teaching certificate. She taught for eighteen years in Vermon.t

In 1970 Ruth left the convent and later met the love of her life, John A. Bergantini. They were married almost 50 years until his death on November 19 2019.

Ruth enjoyed life with John, golfing, playing cards, boating, bowling, and traveling. They enjoyed life to the fullest.

Visitation for Ruth will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 9 to 10 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd, Kingston, RI. Burial will be private in St. Ann Cemtery, Cranston.
