Ruth Bertch of Liberty passed away at Reid Health in Richmond on January 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Ruth was born on December 16, 1947, the daughter of Betty Sparrow Wood.
Ruth was united in marriage at Edwards United Methodist Church on April 24, 1983 to John Bertch. They shared over 40 years of marriage prior to her death.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that loved to babysit. She babysat for about 10 years in the 1990's and kept pictures of all of the kids. She worked as a secretary and had worked alongside of husband at Bertch's Hardware store. Ruth enjoyed doing crafts with the kids, going fishing, and reading. Her most treasured times were those she spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, John, her love and memories will be cherished by her daughters, Michelle (Roy) Day and Jerusha (Aaron) Dyjach; a son, Jeff Bertch; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great grandchild. She will be in the thoughts of her brothers, Walt Goleman and Gene Goleman, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Ruth will be laid to rest in the family plot at West Point Cemetery.
