BRATTON, Ruth D. – of Davison, MI, age 101, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Henry Ford Genesys. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd Frusti, officiating. Private burial will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3 – 7 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, and one hour prior to the service at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics or Humane Society of Genesee County.
Ruth was born in Flint on September 28, 1923, daughter of the late Edwin and Nettie (Watson) Brunsden. She married Cletis Bratton on September 17, 1955, in Flint, MI, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2022. Ruth worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone and then as a switchboard operator for Buick Motor Division. She enjoyed being active. She loved swimming and doing water aerobics. Ruth was an avid bowler, ice skater and seamstress. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Ruth enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens.
Ruth is survived by 4 sons, Jim (Kim), Ken (Maria), Rob (Christy) and Tim (Grace); grandchildren, Jimmy, Melissa, Andrew, Kate, Caleigh, Samantha, Sarah, Elise, Grace, Oscar, Elena and Karianne; great-grandchildren, Ally, Jayden, Kameron, James, Jordyn, Thea, Riley, Cayden, and Cove; sister, Mary Jane Kinkle; sister-in-law, Margaret Kinkle and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Cletis; grandson, Derek; daughter-in-law, Char; many other loving family members and friends.
