Ruth Ann Brown, 78, of Vandalia, IL passed away on August 19, 2025 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.

She was born November 28, 1946 in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of Ralph Ireland and Genevieve (Sanders) Skinner Neuenschwander. She married Darrel Eugene Brown on December 22, 1963 in Ramsey, IL. He passed away on November 19, 2019. She retired as a bookkeeper at Burtschi Bros., Vandalia, IL and was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia. She loved her family more than anything, and found great joy in spending time with them.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Kathy) Brown; daughter, Angela (Matt) Reeter all of Vandalia, IL; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant children, Darren and Dawn; brothers, Donald, James, and Robert Skinner; sisters, Judith Rhoads and Dorothy Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 22, 2025 at Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia, IL with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.
