Elder Ruth was married to the love of her life, Otis Brown, for over 75 years. Theirs was a marriage for the ages - full of love, laughter and Friday night games of Rook. Otis was a career Railroad Engineer. Moments after Elder Ruth left her earthly home, the sound of the local train traveling down the tracks could be heard as Otis signaled for Elder Ruth to join him on the train to Heaven. The family rejoices in knowing Elder Ruth and Otis are now reunited for eternity.

She was an incredible partner to Otis, loving mother to Tammie and Lynn, and doting grandmother and great grandmother. Elder Ruth was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria and later First Baptist Church of Ruston.
