Ruth Ann Buenger, 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Ruth Ann was born in Covington KY on August 28, 1930 the only child of Clarence and Rose Ahrens Schumacher. She attended St Augustine Grade School and was a member of the 1948 graduating class of Notre Dame Academy.
On September 3, 1956 she married Paul Buenger. They raised two daughters together and enjoyed a rich 55 years together until Paul's passing in 2011.
Ruth Ann loved cooking, sewing, flowers, entertaining and taking care of her family and large group of friends. She also enjoyed working outside the home. She spent over 40 years working as a bookkeeper for Pilgrim Distributing Company and Walgreens Drug Stores.
Love of community and connection led Ruth Ann to become involved with many organizations. She was a long time loyal member of the St. Therese Altar Society, serving in many different capacities over the years. She also served on the Notre Dame Academy Alumnae Board.
Card playing was her absolute favorite past time. In 1946 whilst a sophomore in high school, she and her friends formed a "card club." This club continued to meet monthly for over 70 years
A woman of deep Catholic faith and prayer, Ruth Ann understood that as a believer, it was her duty to help others. She was the happiest when doing for others. Her warmth and thoughtfulness touched many lives. And she never forgot a kindness done to her.
Ruth Ann is survived by her two daughters, Tera (John) Wischer, Mary Jo (Marty) Stimac, her grandson Holland (Kiersten Schumacher) Stimac and her great-granddaughter, Sloane Marie Stimac.
Special thanks to Heather Gilliam who was our mother's guardian angel these past few years. God sent her at the perfect time.
Visitation will be from10 am to 11 am on Thursday, May 22 at St Therese Church in Southgate, with Mass following at 11 am. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. A reception will follow at the Southgate VFW. Memorials are suggested to Children's Diocese Home, 75 Orphanage Road, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017 or St. Therese Altar Society, 11 Temple Place, Southgate, KY 41071.
