Ruth J. Cabello

Ruth J. Cabello, 76, of Machesney Park, IL passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was born May 5, 1946, in Germany the daughter of Maxwell and Maria Sadecki. Ruth grew up in Germany, where she met the love of her life, Arnoldo Cabello on July 23, 1970. Arnie was stationed in Germany, while proudly serving his country in the United States Army. They had two children, Silvia, born in Germany and John M., born in the States. Ruth was a loving wife and mother, dedicating herself to her family. She worked alongside Arnie at Cabello Refurbishing. Ruth was humble and a devout Catholic, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was involved in the Phantom Regiment, Winnebago County Republicans, Northern Illinois Republic Women and served as a precinct committeeman. Ruth was proud of her faith, her political affiliation and most of all her family. She enjoyed helping her son, John with his campaigns. Ruth will forever be in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Silvia Cabello; son, John M. Cabello; grandchildren, Angelina Macchia, Dominic Macchia and Zachary Stafseth; sisters-in-law, Socorro Cabello and Gracie Crawford; brother-in-law, Johnnie Cabello; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; beloved companion, Tiny. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnie; in-laws, Ed Cabello, Jill Cabello, Rickie Cabello, Sylvia Cabello, Huberto Cabello, Jack Crawford and Lupe (Cozme) Pena.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. and again Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park, IL 61111. Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS Humane Society, 7282 N Cherryvale Mall Dr, Rockford, IL 61111. The family would like to thank Ruth's friends, family and NIRW for their compassion.
