Ruthie, age 80, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2022. She was born to Randolph and Ruth Dail Barrett on December 2, 1941. Ruthie had two children, Pamela Marie Bement and Glenda Lee Cologero. As a working mother, Ruthie met and fell in love with her husband while working as an Administrative Assistant at the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, D.C. In her younger years she enjoyed cooking delicious dishes for her family. Ruthie had a keen interest in fashion, beauty, music and loved spending time with her dog, Chloe. Although shy by nature, Ruthie loved being around people. She came to Louisiana in 2014 to be with her daughter. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Ruthie was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ruthie is survived by her daughter Glenda, Grandchildren, Jennifer Millwood, Robert Bement, and Stevie Stillinger. Her Great Grand Children Joseph and Lilly Bement, Lyla and Luna Stillinger.
Ruthie is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Charles Combs Sr, Daughter Pam, and grandson Michael Bement.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation please be made to the 'American Cancer Society' or 'Tangipahoa Humane Society', or the 'Alzheimer's Association'.
The family acknowledges and is grateful for the excellent care Ruthie received from the entire staff at Oak Park Village Assisted Living Center during her last days.

Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 North, Ponchatoula, LA. on Friday, April 1, 2022, beginning at 12:00 noon and lasting until the beginning of the Celebration of Ruthie's Life at 1:00 p.m.
