Ruth Daniel

Ruth Daniel, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 99 in Newnan, Georgia. Ruth was born on November 23, 1926, in Graham, Alabama, and lived a long, full life centered on family and faith.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Bent Daniel, Jr., her cherished parents, Jessie and Annie Hendrix and five brothers and two sisters. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Merideth; her grandchildren, Lori Smith (Joni) and Eric Smith (Nicole); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Jaxson Bent Smith, Zachary Roy Smith, Abbie Ashcraft, Aiden Peterson, and Aubree Peterson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and countless people who affectionately called her "Grandma."

Ruth found joy in tending her garden and staying active on the golf course and at the bowling alley, remaining engaged and competitive well into her 90's. She also took great pride in being a wonderful Southern cook. Her food brought so many people joy, made them smile, and left memories that are still talked about today-one of the many reasons so many called her "Grandma."

A woman of strong faith, Ruth was devoted to her church and trusted God throughout her life, living with an unspoken grace and deep love for all those around her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Parrott Funeral Home.

Ruth's life was shaped by love, faith, and good old-fashioned grit. She leaves behind a true legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
