Ruth M. Dugger was born Lizzie Ruth McCall in Montgomery County, Georgia, on October 13, 1929. She was a Hall County resident for more than six decades and the wife of Tommy E. Dugger, who served as the principal of Gainesville Junior High School during the 1960s and 1970s. Ruth was a dedicated wife, loving mother, committed follower of Christ, and member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She left us to be with her Redeemer and Lord on January 30, 2025.
Mrs. Dugger is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Burton McCall and Harriett Madena McCall; three brothers, Lawrence McCall, Frazier McCall, and Henry McCall; and husband of 49 years, Tommy E. Dugger.
Ruth is survived by daughters Harriett Dugger and Melanie Dugger Pullen (Ernest Pullen); seven grandchildren: Caleb Minor (Kate Russell), Meghan Wilson (Lance Wilson), Savannah Burgos (Andrew Burgos), Blake Pullen (Dawnalee Pullen), Thomas Minor (Brittney Minor), Nathanael Minor (Marci Rátkai), and Amelia Tillman (Alex Tillman); and eight great-grandchildren: Riley Wilson, Devin Wilson, Brielle Wilson, Graham Tucker, Simon Tucker, Elliott Minor, Dakota Pullen, Owen Minor and two more grandsons, due in May 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Pastor Bryan Smith and Pastor Geoffrey Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 3rd from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
