Ruth Edginton was born on June 13, 1944, to Catherine and Charles Wright. She grew up on a farm with her two brothers and two sisters, where she developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong appreciation for family.
She graduated from Laingsburg High School and carried with her cherished memories of her mother singing and playing the piano at church, moments that stayed close to her heart throughout her life.
Ruth married Herb Andler and spent time overseas in Germany while he was stationed there with the U.S. Army. Together they had two sons, Todd and Mark. She raised her family in Laingsburg, Nashville, and Colorado, meeting each stage of life with strength and resilience.
Throughout her life, Ruth worked in various careers, including at the Oleos factory. Later, she married Ron, and the two shared 30 years of love, laughter, and adventure. Together they traveled extensively across the United States, embracing the joy of the open road and spending time at the casino in their spare moments.
In her later years, Ruth spent much of her time at ECHRS, where she formed a special friendship with Bill. He was a dear companion, and the two spent many of Ruth's final days together, sharing conversation, laughter, and companionship.
Ruth was known for her sassiness, her strong will, and her unmistakable spirit - if she wanted to give you hell, she certainly could. More than anything, she had a deep love for life and lived it on her own terms.
Ruth Edginton passed away on February 9, 2026, and joined her beloved son, Todd, in heaven. She will be remembered for her bold personality, her devotion to family and friends, and the many memories she leaves behind. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte
