Ruth M. Flett, age 89, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on October 6th, 2025. She was born on December 29th, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Charles and Myrtle Mesplay.
Miss Ruth Mesplay married the love of her life John "David" Flett on May 22, 1955, this union was blessed with two children. Ruth was a devoted homemaker while raising her children and later worked as a bank teller for many years.
She enjoyed not only working with people, but getting to take trips the bank sponsored through-out the years. She was a member of Greentree Christian Church and cherished the friendships she made, getting together for shopping trips and a meal at her favorite spots like Colton's.
Ruth was known for organizing wonderful get togethers and barbecues that she and her family hosted at "the creek" a beautiful park like area that David created around a natural spring on their property.
She loved traveling to new places and enjoyed bowling on a Thursday morning league for many years. Ruth was also an excellent seamstress and cook; she was known for the clothes she made for herself and her daughter.
Ruth is survived by her children, Michael Flett of Rolla, MO, and Cindy Daniels (Donny) of Coldwater, MS; her brother David Mesplay (Pat) of Columbia, MO; grandchildren Stephen Stricklin (Keisha), Leah Flett (Corey), and Audrey Flett (Andrew); and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece Diane Brown (Bob), sister-in-law Lena Mesplay, best friends Terry Boyce and Carrie Aswegan, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.D. Flett, her parents, and her brothers Charles and Paul Mesplay.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 12th, 2025, at Ozark Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested and greatly appreciated to the Phelps Health Hospice, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
