Ruth Marilyn Grass Aka Marilyn Born Sunday June 29, 1930, Peacefully left us Monday September 29, 2025. She was preceded in death by both parents, all her grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, her husband George, her beloved daughter Nancy Hansen, daughter in-law Lynne Grass as well as her later in life companion Bob Miller. All her graduation classmates except one also preceded her in death. She was born in Duluth, MN an only child. She was involved with the marching band and excelled academically. At 18 after graduation, she left home and went to Arlington, Virginia to work as an Arlington farm girl for the DOD. There she met her husband, George Grass. They started a family, having three sons Steve, Rick and Jeff Grass and one daughter Nancy Hansen. Later, Marilyn added Bob's daughter as her bonus daughter, whom she loved and always kept in contact with. Marilyn in her life was an ally to the Native American Tribes from West Virginia to Seattle. She was an inspiration taking writing courses at Western Washington University and was a beautiful writer. She was an accountant, an Auditor for BIA in Seattle and eventually she & George owned and ran Blue Lake Resort in Grant County from the 1970's until they retired and sold the business to their son, Jeff and his late wife Lynne in 1995. Marilyn and George traveled all over USA and Mexico. After losing George, Marilyn continued to travel. Marilyn built an immediate family of over 63 members, and beloved by them all. She was available to spend time with them and enjoyed her time with them. She was very involved with the Methodist Church in Ephrata being on committee boards and a pianist until arthritis interfered. Until January 2025 she lived in her own apartment self sufficient playing cards and with an active social network that she loved. Even when she went to live at McKay's in Soap Lake, she was beloved by the staff. Her legacy of love, compassion and tolerance was passed on to her huge surviving family. At her bequest, her funeral will be held at Ephrata Methodist Church on Friday, October 3 at 1pm with a finger food luncheon and fellowship after. Instead of flowers the family would like a donation in her name to either the Grant County Animal Outreach Shelter or McKay's Nursing Rehab in Soap Lake. The staff at McKay's and the Hospice of Moses lake have been wonderful in the care of Marilyn's last few weeks. Our family, Thanks you for all your support.
