Ruth Hamilton Obituary
Ruth Louise (Hoyt) Hamilton, 85, passed away on January 15, 2026.
Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on October 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Esther (Post) Hoyt.
Ruth was a secretary at Waring Products in New Hartford and worked for many years with her former husband at the Maloney Funeral Home in Winsted. She later went on to work at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bunnell; two sons, Paul Markel and Ken Markel (Pleshette); eight grandchildren; three brothers, Steven, Jim and John Hoyt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial in East Street North Cemetery, Goshen, will be held privately in the spring. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
