Ruth Headrick, 76, of Fargo, formerly of Minot, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND. Ruth was born January 1, 1947, to Maurice and Ellen (Restad) Anderson in Pelican Rapids, MN. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Central High School. Following high school, she continued her education at Concordia College in Moorhead and later Minnesota State University in Moorhead. She married Loren Headrick in 1969. They moved to Minot, ND, where Ruth began her career at Pringle and Herigstad Law Firm. She enjoyed 40 years with the firm until retiring in 2014.
Ruth had many interests and enjoyed traveling and collecting a tee shirt from her many destinations. A special trip included touring China with her brother and sister-in-law. Other favorite activities included golfing with her co-workers, hosting family gatherings, and spending time volunteering, where she could often be found serving at the local food pantry or soup kitchen. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished her time with her sons and their families. She was a devoted grandma and loved reading, baking, fishing, and playing games with her boys. She was an animal lover and a favorite of all the family pets. She was beloved by all who were lucky to call her a friend and will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Michael (Chelsey) of Northfield, MN, Joseph (Jade) of Bismarck, ND; grandsons, Dane and Heath; brother, Dale (Candace) Anderson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, October 30, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, October 31, at 11:00 a.m., at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Interment will be at South Grove Lake Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids, MN, at a later date.
