Ruth Ellen Herrington

Ruth Ellen Herrington, 84, of Jasper, died Monday, March 9, 2026. She was born on February 3, 1942, in Kountze, to Irene Laird Anderson and Thomas Jefferson Anderson.

Survivors include her children, Mary Stein and her husband, Danny, of Riesel; Rusty Herrington and his wife, Brenda, of Silsbee; Randy Herrington and his wife, Angie, of Woodville; Ricky Herrington and his wife, Loni, of Silsbee; and Tara Hancock and her husband, Jared, of Jasper; grandchildren, Tesa Hatch of Waco; Jake Hatch and his wife, Donna, of Buna; Troy Hatch and his wife, Jessica, of Buna; April Herrington of Mishawaka, Indiana; Stephanie Plake and her husband, Colt, of Lumberton; Conrad Hall of Jacksonville; Jodie Work and her husband, Brian, of Jacksonville; Mandy Thomas and her husband, Brad, of Jacksonville; Scot Herrington and his wife, Star, of Woodville; Tamara Stiefer of Santa Fe; Tiffani West of Woodville; Trista Flowers and her husband, Jesse, of Woodville; Shaye Jackson and her husband, Josh, of Lumberton; Geri Herrington of Buna; Kade Morgan and his wife, Taylor, of Silsbee; Dannielle Korte and her Husband Matt, of Bulverde; Matthew McClendon of Clovis, California; Mason McClendon of Clovis, California; and Karlie Hancock of Jasper; forty-four great-grandchildren; and siblings, JD Anderson and his wife, Gwen, of Beaumont; Dwight Anderson and his wife, Linda; Leroy Anderson; AJ Anderson; Dodie Anderson and her wife, Reba; Alton Anderson and his wife, Lisa, all of Kountze; and Martha Douty of Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Leman Anderson, Thomas Anderson, Hubert Anderson, Clarence Anderson, Gilbert Anderson, Lester Anderson, Chester Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Marie Eaves, and Jewel Anderson.

A gathering of Ms. Herrington's family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.
