Ruth Hoar

Ruth Hoar, 95, of Elmhurst Township died Sunday afternoon at her home with her family at her side. She is the widow of Thomas Hoar who died in 1991.

Born February 26, 1931 in Cresco, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Price) Stewart. She was a graduate of Barret Township H.S. class of 1949. Prior to her retirement, Ruth was employed in banking. She was a faithful member of St. Eulalia's Church in Roaring Brook Township.

Surviving are her children: Nancy Callahan (Bernard) of Hamlin; Sharon Ruthkoski of Elmhurst Township; Jeffrey Orr (Carole) of Clarks Summit; Linda Kuniegel (Walter) of Elmhurst Township; and Gregory J. Orr (Lori) of Moscow: ten grandchildren: Brenna Callahan (Jon), Bill Ruthkoski (Samantha), Conor Orr(Alison), Michael Callahan (Heather), Justin Kuniegel (Kayla), Emily Linnane (Conor), Kelly Kuniegel, Kerri Orr (Matthew), Kaleigh Orr (Christyan), and Matthew Kuniegel; and eleven great-grandchildren: Parker, Dawkins, Evie, Emma, Rudy, AJ, Otis, Ainsley, Jamison, Raylan and Lily.

Also surviving are her sister, Carol Benkosky of Swiftwater, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Zukowski, and her brother, Bill Stewart.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Eulalia's Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Township, PA.

Friends will be received Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment and rite of committal will be conducted at St. Catherines Cemetery, Covington Township, PA
