Ruth Hodges, born Ruth Louise Frampton on December 4, 1940, in Harveyton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was 84 years old.
Ruth’s life was one of deep devotion to her family. she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband Lonnie, building a life rooted in love, laughter, and resilience. Together they raised four children: daughters Sheri Christy (Rick) of Salina, Tammy Botkin and Dina Bradley of Topeka, and their late son Larry Hodges. Ruth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren—Jerry, Brandy, Dustin, Megan, Mikel, Aaron, Shelby, Brent, Levi, Auralee and Leah—as well as her 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.She is also remembered by her brother Pete Filby (Cathy).
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Belle Frampton; siblings Eddie and Kenneth Frampton; brother Hank Filby; sister and brother-in-law Chic and Dallas Lintner; mother-in-law Esther Michael and foster parents Betty and Earl Filby; and her cherished son Larry.
Ruth dedicated two decades of service as a Purchasing Agent for Topeka Presbyterian Manor. Her commitment to excellence in her work reflected the same care she brought to every aspect of her life.
Ruth was the heart of her family devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and a cherished friend to many. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter. Known affectionately as the “garage sale goddess,” she had a passion for second-hand treasures and spent countless joyful hours exploring shops with her sister Chic. Crafting with family brought her immense joy; these creative moments became treasured memories for those lucky enough to share them with her.
Ruth’s infectious sense of humor lit up every room she entered. Her stories—rich with experience and wit—touched countless lives over the years. She had an extraordinary ability to bring people together through laughter and love.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May the joy she brought into this world continue to shine through those who carry forward her spirit. A Memorial Service will be held on November 7, 2025, 02:00 PM at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka.
