Together they raised four children: daughters Sheri Christy (Rick) of Salina, Tammy Botkin and Dina Bradley of Topeka, and their late son Larry Hodges. Ruth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren—Jerry, Brandy, Dustin, Megan, Mikel, Aaron, Shelby, Brent, Levi, Auralee and Leah—as well as her 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.She is also remembered by her brother Pete Filby (Cathy).

Ruth was the heart of her family devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and a cherished friend to many. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter. Known affectionately as the “garage sale goddess,” she had a passion for second-hand treasures and spent countless joyful hours exploring shops with her sister Chic. Crafting with family brought her immense joy; these creative moments became treasured memories for those lucky enough to share them with her.

Ruth’s infectious sense of humor lit up every room she entered. Her stories—rich with experience and wit—touched countless lives over the years. She had an extraordinary ability to bring people together through laughter and love.
