Ruth Judge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home-89th Chapel - Cleveland on Sep. 7, 2023.
Ruth Marie Judge (nee Crawford) was born to Etoi Crawford (deceased) on March 12,1932 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ruth was the second born and only daughter. Her brothers Robert "Bobby" Crawford, Frank Crawford and John Crawford Sr. all proceeded her in death.
In 1953, Ruth entered into matrimony with Jimmie L. Judge (deceased). To this union, they welcomed two daughters, Linda M. Judge-James (deceased) and Darlene Judge(deceased) and one son Jimmie L. Judge, Jr.(deceased). In 1963, Ruth welcomed another son David L. Judge (deceased).
Accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, Ruth was baptized under the pastorate of Rev. Horne in 1943. She served as a faithful member of Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church actively serving the community, guided young ones as a Sunday School teacher for nursery and kindergarten and as a leader of Ruth Circle No. 4. She also served on the Financial Board for the Missionary Society. Ruth's beautiful voice was a staple of the church's Revelation Choir and Mass Choir where she happily sang with joy and jubilee.
Educated in the Cleveland Public School system, Ruth was a 1950 graduated of Central High School. Armed with knowledge and a heart full of compassion, she began her journey into the world, touching lives in ways that only she could.
Ruth's dedication extended beyond her family and her church. Ruth served for an astounding 39 years as a dietician aide for University Hospital where her commitment and hard work was acknowledged by all who knew her, and she most definitely left an indelible mark on the institution.
Ruth had a creative side that she generously shared with the world. Her nimble fingers crafted beautiful afghans through her love of crocheting which she offered to teach to anyone who asked. But what she will most be remembered for were her cakes. Her passion for baking blessed many with the taste of her delectable pound cakes, a slice of her love served on each and every plate.
And let's not forget her love for her Cleveland sports teams! No one rooted louder for the Cleveland Browns, the Guardians (formerly Indians) and the Ohio State football team. She knew all the players, scores, stats and everything in between.
Ruth leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: her loving granddaughters, Sonja James-Gaitor (Christopher), Shareese James, Samirah Robinson, Nekesha Taylor, and Ashley Fair (Shawn) Brianna Judge, Keona Judge, and Courtney Judge; grandson, Kyle Judge, Michael Judge; sister-in-law Marie Crawford; nieces Adrienne, Charla and Tammy; nephew John Crawford, Jr.; great grandsons, Eryck, D'Von, Deven, Nayir, DeMarcus, Tremayne, Frank, Brayden, Braymere, and Reginald;
great granddaughters, Remy, LaJayla, Amanda and Elise; her dearest friend Nyla Sanford and "son" Joel S. Williams; and a host of other family members and friends.
"Look at how good and pleasing it is when families live together as one. "
Psalm 133:1
