Ruth E. Kohlmetz, 83, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of January 15, 2026 at her residence.
Ruth was born in Sewickley, PA on May 20, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elsie Stone and Thelma Stevens Jones and Lewis Jones.
On October 2, 1961 Ruth married her beloved husband, Edward Kohlmetz. Edward preceded her in death on December 21, 1997.
Ruth enjoyed going to Bingo, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth's greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, Chris Kohlmetz, Cindie Knight and Dawn Parker (Brad), two former sons-in-law, Michael Vannatten and Brad Ramsey, three brothers, Richard, James and Daniel Stone, three sisters, Audrey Foster, Kay Dockery and Barb Partridge (Brad), her sister-in-law, Sandy Hill, seven grandchildren, Michael Vannatten (Jennifer), Terry Kohlmetz (Diana), John Houk, Jr. (Karissa), who Ruth Raised, Anthony Ramsey (Veronica), Renee Ramsey (Mike), Ashlynn Ramsey (Nick) and Brittany Henry, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Richard Kohlmetz, her daughter, Vicky Jo Kohlmeetz, three brothers, Dave and Roland Stone and Lewis Jones, one sister, Patricia Crabtree, three sisters-in-law, Esther Stone, Sadie Stone and Amber Stone and one grandson, Briar Ramsey.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Richard Nero. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
