Ruth Koy

Ruth Koy nee Klotz age 99 passed away on Friday May 16 at the Lena Living Center in Lena IL. Ruth was a former resident of River Grove. Ruth was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church until she transferred her membership to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport IL. Ruth loved to play Canasta when they held or went to card parties. Ruth enjoyed going to Polka Fests and dancing the night away. Ruth enjoyed traveling and has been to all 50 states and several different countries. Ruth enjoyed entertaining with family and friends. For family parties or events , you always saw Ruth carrying a tray of her famous Kolache’s. Many family and friends remember Ruth enjoying a High-Ball or a glass of wine. Ruth also worked at Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park IL as a head cook until she retired in 1984. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Ernst, long time companion Herb Voth, her parents and her brother. She was a beloved mother of Norm (Gale nee Koch) and Holly (Otis) Holley; dear grandmother of Kristyn (Jeremy) Honemann, Amber Fratamico and Sarah (Austin) Wesolowski; Great-Grandma to Logan Honemann, Cadence Geary and Maverick Wesolowski. She was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
