Ruth A. (Strand) Laney Fogl, age 76, of Millcreek passed away surrounded by her family and her dear friend Alice at her residence. Born July 21, 1946, in Erie, she was a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Miner) Strand.
Ruth graduated from Academy High School in 1964 and worked as a nurse's aide at St. Vincent Hospital, an executive secretary at First National Bank, a property manager at Westwind Apartments, and retired from the Regional Cancer Center where she worked as a scheduler.
She loved crocheting, knitting, and taking care of her plants and flowers. Ruth enjoyed watching and feeding all the birds that would gather on her deck. She also loved the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Bears.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Satyshur.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Fogl, of 35 years who she always said was her best friend and the love of her life; two children, John Laney, and Wendi Laney Arlington; three stepchildren, Lorraine Wedzik, husband Tom, Therese Sivers, and Frank Fogl III, wife Sue; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Services will be held there on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
