On December 11, 2024, Ruth M. (Kessler) Lauer, at the age of 101, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home into the arms of Jesus. She is the wife of Virgil Lauer who preceded her in death in December, 1999. They were married in December, 1941, and shared 58 wonderful years of marriage together in Saint Charles County, where they raised their family.
Ruth was born at the Vierling Place on Wolfrum Road in Saint Charles County, Missouri, in 1923, and attended the one room School House # 3 in Cottleville and graduated from Francis Howell High School. She is the daughter of George and Talitha Kessler and was an only child.
She is survived by her two children, Gaylene Lauer and Steve (Carol) Lauer; her three granddaughters, Kristin and Caitlin Lauer and Courtney (Alex) Elliott; and one great-grandson, Mason Elliott.
Ruth enjoyed growing many types of flowers, especially irises and roses and working in the garden. She also enjoyed canning the many fresh vegetables from her garden.
Ruth loved Jesus with her whole heart and was a member of Church on the Rock in St. Peters, MO for about 40 years. Her heart’s desire was to love others as Jesus loved His Church. She lived her life according to God’s Word.
Visitation will be at Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, Saint Charles, MO 63301 December 16, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Burial will be at St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Cottleville, MO.
