Born in NYC she grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and Hyde Park, NY. She was the Daughter of the late Frank and Elsa Deger.
A Graduate of Poughkeepsie High School Ruth spent many years as a Dental receptionist in Hyde Park.
Ruth's life was filled with family, love, hobbies, travel and sharing her life with good friends. She had a love of decorating and her family and friends always called upon her to do their decorating. She was expert in floral arrangements, bows, furniture selection and layouts. She could have made this her career but elected to do it for herself, family and friends.
Ruth loved sports and was an active participant in bowling and golf as well as spending countless hours at her grandchildren's games whether it be swimming, baseball, basketball or football. She became an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Ruth loved traveling with her friends and visited multiple countries in 5 continents.
In addition to her parents Ruth was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Charles and Walter, Sister Virginia and Son-in-Law Joe Mesuda.
Ruth is survived by her children Russ Lauria (Laurel) of Six Mile, SC, Daughter Laura Mesuda of Hurley, NY and Daughter Susan Coon (Rick) of Auburn, Ga.
Grandchildren Holley Jensen ( Brian) of Bend, Oregon, Josh Coon (Britt) of Dacula, Ga., Jordan Coon ( Brandy) of Waynesboro,Va. and Ben Mesuda of Hurley, NY.
She is also survived by 5 Great Grand Children. McKinley Coon of Dacula Ga., Hailey and Corbin Coon of Waynesboro,Va, Jake Jensen of Bend Oregon and Jaliyah Mesuda of Hurley, NY.
She also leaves many loving and dear friends and her long time partner Ed Desmond of Hyde Park and the entire Desmond extended family.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at her daughters home in Auburn, Ga.
