Ruth Leal Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - North on Mar. 9, 2026.
With profound sorrow and abiding love, we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Marie Guzman Leal, who entered eternal rest on February 19, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on November 2, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas.

Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was immeasurable and steadfast. Through that love, she created a lifetime of cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Trevino and husband Joe, and Rhonda Salinas and husband Roberto; her grandchildren, Robby Salinas and wife Rachel, Andrew Trevino and wife Natalie, Michael Trevino and fiancée Jasmine Rodriguez, and Ryan Salinas and wife Marla; and her great-grandchildren, Noah Leiva, Andrew Trevino II, and Benjamin Trevino. She is also survived by her siblings, Ray Guzman, Sandra Gamez, and Lisa Guzman; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and lifelong friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Pete Leal; her parents, Eugene and Clara Guzman; her siblings, Charles E. Guzman and Patsy Guzman; and her parents-in-law, Jose and Enriqueta Leal.

Among the many blessings in Ruth's life were her deep faith in God, her family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness-mariachi music, dancing, bowling, shopping, cooking, visits to the casino, and, of course, cheering on the San Antonio Spurs.

Affectionately known as "Grandma Ruth" to many, she never met a stranger. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome to all who entered.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
