Esperanza Bejar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - North on Feb. 24, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Esperanza Zepeda Bejar

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Esperanza Zepeda Bejar, who was called to the Lord on February 19, 2026, at the age of 75, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Entrusting herself completely to God's mercy, she fought with dignity, hope, and remarkable spiritual strength until the very end.

Born on September 4, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Esperanza lived a life marked by devotion - to her family, her church, and her Lord. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and trust in God. Even during her hardest days, she remained steadfast, often reminding those around her that God was in control and that she trusted his plan.

Esperanza loved to laugh. Her laughter filled rooms and lifted spirits. She loved to dance - whether at family gatherings, celebrations, or simply in her kitchen - reminding those around her that joy is a gift meant to be embraced.

She was a proud graduate of Lanier High School. During her senior year, she met the love of her life, her beloved husband, Arturo S. Bejar Jr., who was serving as a sailor in the Navy. Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, grounded in faith, unconditional love, and devotion.

For more than 20 years, Esperanza faithfully served as a Teacher Assistant, where she touched the lives of countless children with patience, kindness, and encouragement. She had a special gift for supporting teachers and students alike. Her cheerful spirit and steady presence made a lasting difference in the classroom.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She faithfully served her parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Helotes, TX, as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. With deep reverence and humility, she carried the Eucharist to countless parishioners – bringing Christ's presence into their lives. It was one of the greatest honors to serve at the altar and minister to her parish family.

Above all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her devoted husband, Arturo; her children, Rebecca (Tadd) and Adrian (Marisa); and her grandchildren, Noah, Annalise, Xander, and Zachary, who will forever carry her love in their hearts. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Connie (Antonio), Estella, Olga (Tony), and Gilbert (Ann).

Visitation for the immediate family will be held on Wednesday, March 04, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Public viewing will follow from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Castle Ridge Mortuary North, 10901 W. Loop 1604 N., San Antonio, Texas 78254.

On Thursday, March 05, 2026, final viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by departure in procession to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Helotes, TX at 10:15 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Cordi-Marian Catholic Community, Resurrection Cemetery,11624 Culebra Rd, San Antonio, Tx 78253.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

-2 Timothy 4:7
