Mount Carmel – Ruth E. Leiby, 86, formerly of Shamokin, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Shamokin on November 20, 1938 to the late John and Stella (Isenbauch) Noll. On August 30, 1958 in Shamokin she married William Leiby, who preceded her in death.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Tina Whispell, and Eileen Nye; three grandsons, Robert Whispell, III, William Whispell, Sr. and David Stevens; two granddaughters, Christina Urlich, and Nicole Nye; three great grandsons, William Whispell, Jr., Ellis Ulrich, and Malachi Whispell; three great granddaughters, Mia Joseph, Alyssa Startzel, and Aubrey Startzel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Noll, Harry Noll, and Carl Noll (Infant); and two sisters, Helen Evans and her husband, Tom, and Donna Geisse and her husband, Woody.

Ruth E. Leiby, 86, Shamokin - Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 12:00 pm Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
