Ruth Linson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory - Troy on Feb. 23, 2026.
Ruth Ann Linson, 82, of Silex, Missouri, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 22, 2026.

Ruth was born on January 9, 1944, to Elue and Rose Thielmann. She grew up in St. Charles and Cottleville, Missouri, and attended the Catholic school in St. Charles. Those early years helped shape the gentle, faithful heart she carried throughout her life.

Ruth was married twice, first to Bob Blanton and later to Dean Linson. In the late 1990s, she moved to Silex, Missouri, where she proudly made her home for the rest of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, both husbands, her sons Larry and John, and her granddaughter Anna.

She is survived by her children Danny Thielman, Carol Scott (Linson), Justen Linson, and Jason Linson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many extended family members and friends.

Ruth had a true love for collecting recipes, cooking and baking for those she cared about, dancing, gardening, and spending quality time with family and friends. She had a special fondness for monkeys and bears that always brought a smile to her face. Although she did not spend much of her adult life attending church, her faith remained a strong and guiding presence in her heart.

She volunteered faithfully at the Silex Community Building, serving meals alongside her dear friend Dotty until her health declined. Ruth was a wonderful part of her community and found great joy in helping others.

Those who knew Ruth will remember her bright smile, gentle spirit, and positive outlook. She always searched for the good and had a way of bringing warmth and laughter wherever she went.

She made others feel valued, worthy, and deeply loved. A devoted family member, loyal friend, and cherished part of her community, she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A special thank you is extended to her children, Carol and Danny, for the loving care they provided during the last few years of her life as her health declined.
