Ruth Inez Longmire

Ruth Inez Longmire was born September 18, 1929, to Jack and Denzil Shannon in Mangum, Oklahoma. Ruth married Carson Longmire on March 9, 1946, when Carson returned from military
service in World War II. Ruth and Carson moved to California where Carson obtained his engineering degree. They then moved to Spokane, Washington and finally settled in Tulsa, OK. They relocated to Bixby, OK just prior to Carson's retirement. Ruth passed away at the age of 96 on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Oklahoma City.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carson, and her sister Betty June Townsend of Wichita, KS.
She is survived by her brother Bob Shannon and his wife Virginia of Oklahoma City; children Michael and daughter-in-law Joy of Tulsa, OK, Steven and daughter-in-law Francene of Lone Wolf, OK, and Carla of Tuttle, OK; granddaughters Kara, Andrea, Carly
and Adrienne; grandchildren Calvin, Owen, Jay, Elizabeth, Alexander and Harper; as well as several nieces, nephews and various relatives.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Longmire was laid to rest next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
