With deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Ruth Loretta Hoesl Molony Vogt, who left this world on April 10, 2025. She was 93 years young.
Ruth was born on June 30, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Nicholas and Marie Hoesl. She grew up in Westwood and graduated from Mother of Mercy High School. While finishing high school, she also attended My Lady Academy School of Beauty at night, where she became a licensed cosmetologist-a profession she proudly pursued throughout her life.
Ruth was known for her vibrant spirit and boundless energy. She was an avid bridge player, always up for an adventure, and never met a stranger. Her home was filled with laughter, warmth, and generosity, earning her the affectionate titles of "hostess with the mostest" and "the Energizer Bunny."
She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-loving them fiercely and unconditionally. Ruth's Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life; she served her church by distributing communion and cutting hair for the clergy over the years. One of her favorite ministries was volunteering with Haircuts from the Heart, where she offered free haircuts to those in need.
Ruth is survived by her son, Nicholas Molony, and daughters Jane Molony Renzenbrink, Jill Molony Collord, and Jessica Molony Campbell; her beloved 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings Nicholas Hoesl, Ester Meyer, Joan Schott, Helen Olding, Clare Hoesl, and Joe Hoesl; and many dear friends and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, John Armstrong Molony; her second husband, Robert Vogt; her children Jennifer, Jean Marie, Philip, Julie, and John Molony; her parents, Nicholas and Marie Hoesl; and her siblings Mary Jean Hessel, Wilma Barrett, Richard Hoesl, Tom Hoesl, and Charles Hoesl.
Ruth instilled in her children a strong work ethic, a deep sense of faith, and a commitment to always help thy neighbor. She was so punctual that if she thought a ride might be late, she'd start walking to meet it-and she often showed up thirty minutes early for a scheduled event.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 10385 New Haven Road, Harrison, OH 45030. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow on Friday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haircuts from the Heart at franciscanministriesinc.org, a Franciscan ministry.
