Ruth Ina Magee, 80, of Coldwater, a loving mother and grandmother known for her caring smile and fun-loving nature, died peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Charlotte. Ruth was born October 1, 1944 in Fostoria, OH, the daughter of Phillip Stewart and Clara Catherine (Daniels) Daniel. She married David B. Magee in 1963, shortly after graduating high school. David and Ruth were known to many as legends in the square dancing community. They spent much of their married life traveling to dance halls and dance conventions around the country, where David served as the dance "caller." Ruth worked in the warehouse for Southern Michigan News Co. for many years. After retirement, David and Ruth enjoyed 20 years as snowbirds, spending winters in Florida. Ruth was a devout and active member of the Family Church in Port Charlotte, FL. She also enjoyed fishing from the dock and time spent with her children and grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Wayne) Umholtz and Becki (Tom) Willard; grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Umholtz, Kaitlyn (Tim) Kaiser, Matthew Umholtz, Jacob Umholtz, Laura (fiance Calvin Smith) Willard, and Emily Willard; and her great-grandchildren, Harrison Umholtz, Alexander Umholtz, William Kaiser, and Audrey Kaiser. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Marie Yates and Robert Daniel. Friends are encouraged to support Ruth's family by sharing memories on her Tribute Page at www.prayfuneral.com. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to Eaton Community Palliative Care. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
