Obituary of Ruth Alice Malott
Ruth Alice Malott, 93, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully in her home that she and her husband built 70 years ago.
She was born on August 20, 1930 to Clayton and Norma (Dietrich) Skimin. Ruth grew up in Saginaw, graduating from Saginaw High School where she was majorette in the band. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Malott, in 1948 and they raised eight children together.
Ruth enjoyed music, bowling, and playing cards for many years with her friends. She also loved spending time at Higgins Lake where she and her husband built a cottage. Ruth also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, and school events. She was an avid sports fan of all Michigan teams.
Ruth is survived by her eight children, Mike Malott, Chris (Henry) Mattheis, Teri (Tom) Whitfield, Carol (Charlie) Humphrey, Chas Malott, Jeff (Becky) Malott, Michelle (Jeff) Fisher, and Mindy (John) McLaughlin; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her parents, and three siblings, Donna, Ione, and Richard.
FUNERAL: Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State Street). Pastor Steve Lampi will officiate with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org.
