Ruth B. Mathis

Ruth B. Mathis, 92, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. Ruth was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 26, 1932 where she lived until she married her beloved Bobby in 1951. They moved to Scottsdale in 1956 where she spent the rest of her life. Throughout her years in Scottsdale she worked at Mountain Bell, The Party Line, Dillards, The Desert Dweller and was a longtime volunteer at The White Dove. Ruth enjoyed playing bridge, desert breakfasts, the occasional Manhattan, exercise classes at the local YMCA with friends and neighbors, traveling to parts of the US, Canada and Europe, and of course creating memories with family. Ruth will be remembered for sharing stories (that always included embellishments), telling jokes, enjoying her husband's cooking, her love of the desert, showing kindness to all, being full of life and laughter, and cherishing being the life of the party. She is survived by her son and daughter and their spouses, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Messenger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale 85251.
