Sharing 65 years of memories with Ruth, floods my mind with a myriad of scenes. I remember the first time I was awed by her singing and acting was in a performance of "Oklahoma." She had been disappointed for not getting the lead, but quickly stole the show as Aunt Eller. She was a sexy, whimsical Daisy Mae in the production of "Li'l Abner," and a powerful voice in "The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd." Her dramatic talents shone in "Look Back in Anger" and in the lead role of "Equus." Her classical piano playing was unbelievable and as an older sister, I was quite proud and envious at the same time. Mostly in recent years we were phone confidantes that snorted laughter mixed with tears about headlines, politics, religion, our children and our siblings. "Peter Pan" starring Mary Martin and "Cinderella" with Leslie Ann Warren were our favorite shows to watch together. Sing on, play on, dear sister, for now that you have reached the mountain top, you can truly climb. Loving you and missing you! Your big Sissy, Martha "End Scene"

Such a lovely, lovely soul. Gracious and warm, funny and smart - she became a dear friend to us as soon as we met her. Godspeed to you dear friend. We will keep you in our hearts, with our arms around your beloved Mike.

To Martha and the McCurry family,
So sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. Having known Martha and family for over 50 years, I remember Ruth as the pesky younger sister and blonde haired beauty. My love to the family. May she rest in everlasting peace.
