Ruth Lena Miller laid down Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and woke up in the arms of Jesus. Ruth was born to Charlie and Mary Linkous on 12/10/1940 at home in Rogersville. Besides, her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, George Dee Miller, brothers Don, Marvin, Dave, and Lucian Linkous, and sisters Hazel Byrd and Eva Gilliam, and step-granddaughter, Amy Lynn Lawson.
Ruth was an avid TN Volunteer fan for football and basketball. She worked in assembly at Dodge Reliance until she retired. She and George like to travel. They went to places like New York, New Jersey, California (to see her family), Las Vegas, Atlanta (to see the Braves play), and New Orleans to name a few. She was one of the best gardeners and canners around, teaching her canning skills to her daughters-in-law, Diane and Randi. She loved working in her flowers. She always enjoyed cooking and having family over for holidays, Sundays, and anytime they could come together.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie (Randi) Linkous, Jimmie Linkous, and Aaron (Diane) Miller; her one and only grandson, Jimmy Aaron "Tyler" Linkous; and that little guy that put a spark in her eye, her great-grandson, Judah Everest Linkous of Rogersville; her last living sister, Sue (Tony) Cardosa, of Granite Bay, California; her step-grandson, Gary (Ashley) Lawson; and step-great grandsons, Garrett, Gavin, and Grant Lawson of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Christian Sells on Sunday, August 10th from 1-3 pm, and anytime at her residence at 101 Ridgeview Drive, with service at 3 pm, and burial immediately following at Highland Cemetery with the Rev. George "Fuzz" Bradley officiating, Doug and Renee Seymore will provide music accompanied by Melissa Toney on piano. Online condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com.
