Mary “Ruth” Ledford Miller, age 90, was born on February 10, 1936, in North Carolina, and passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by love.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Miller, who passed away in 2004; her parents, Silas and Valerie Rogers Ledford; son, David Miller; grandson, Chris Higgs; and sister, Ova.
She is survived by her loving children: Eddie (Suzanne) Miller, Minnie (Butch) Schildhauer, Jerry Miller and Linda (Ian) Higgs. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren who will continue her legacy. She is further survived by her sisters, Jeanie and Lois.
Ruth was known for her remarkable talent as a seamstress. Through her gifted hands, she created not only beautiful garments but lasting memories for those she loved. As the oldest of four girls, she carried a quiet strength and steady presence throughout her life. Her devotion to family was evident in all she did.
Her family will remember her for her resilience, her creativity, and the love she gave so freely.
