Ruth Margaret North, age 71, a resident of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on September 14, 2025, in Ocean Springs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Helmar and Saima Peterson of Michigan; and her siblings, Myrna, Marie, William, and Marjorie.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Mark North; her children, Tammy (Scott) Bosse, Jamie (Adriana) Baird; stepson, Matthew (Carelyn) North; siblings, Elly Kuivanen, Karen (William) King; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole, Caitlin, Stephanie, and Jamie; a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Ruth grew up in Tapiola, MI., is a graduate of Houghton High School, and lives in Ocean Springs, MS., She loved gardening, reading, visiting the casinos and creating a beautiful home for her and Mark.
To Ruth, family was everything. She was so loved by many. She bravely fought her ovarian cancer for 6 years, 7 months, and 15 days. She never cried for herself, just for others. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her. She was a strong woman until the very end. She lit up a room with her smile and loved life. She did every aspect of her life with such poise and grace. At her request no services will be held at this time.
