Edgington Breaux, age 79, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on September 7, 2025.

He was born June 24, 1946 in Crowley Louisiana. He was the son of the late Moise and Eura Marie Breaux. Edgington spent most of his life in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran that dedicated his life to serving his country and was honored with the Bronze Star for his bravery. After retiring from the Army, he continued his service to others as a member of the Lafayette Village Fire Department. Later in his life he moved to Ocean Springs Mississippi to enjoy living close to the ocean. He built a life rooted in faith, service and love for his family.

Beyond his accomplishments, Edgington was a man who valued the simple joys of life. He loved spending time outdoors playing tennis, fishing and crabbing, he also enjoyed the friendly competition of bowling. He loved to watch sports especially when his favorite teams were playing which were LSU and the New Orleans Saints. He also loved to watch Duke basketball. He loved God and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, where his faith guided him daily.

Edgington was married for 54 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Loi Thu Breaux. Together, they raised their son Eddie Breaux(Thanh) who will carry forward his example of dedication and strength. He was a proud grandfather to Heather Holden(Jessy), Allison Smith, Jadee Kokonios(Andreas), and Bo Breaux; and a great-grandfather to six little ones who brought him joy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Miriam Poe(Dale), Evelyn Breaux, as well as many nieces, cousins, and extended family who loved him dearly.

He was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents, Moise and Eura Marie Breaux; his sisters Monica and Yvette Breaux; his grandchild, Kelly Breaux, and his great-grandchild, Micah Holden.

Edgington will be remembered for his courage, devotion, and having a heart of gold. His family will cherish the love he shared with them and all who knew him. His legacy of service and kindness will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to gather in his honor on Friday, September 19, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, Biloxi, MS.
