Ruth Oliver, 74, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born November 4, 1949 in the community of Alix, Arkansas to Gilbert and Mary Alice Gilbreath. She was a retired math teacher at Greenwood Public Schools, teaching for 31 ½ years.
She is survived by three sons, Stephen Malenshek and wife, Leslie of Fort Smith, Robert Malenshek and wife, Kristin of Greenwood and Andrew Malenshek and wife, Stephanie of Greenwood; three step-sons, Billy Oliver and wife, Jodi of Rogers, Bob Oliver and wife, Jennifer of Greenwood and Casey Oliver and wife, Monica of Fort Smith; two daughters, Teri Whittaker of Benton and Bekah Trotter of Greenwood; one step daughter, Brenda Parker and husband, Rick of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Janice Quillman of Greenwood; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Oliver and three brothers, Ralph, Roy and Rae Gilbreath.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 3 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kolton Hughes, Cody Quillman, Taylor Sterling, Chris Malenshek, Phillip Gilbreath and Tim Bair. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Quillman, James Quillman and Mike Rose.
