Ruth Darden Ostrowski, 86, of Spartanburg, widow of Edward Thomas Ostrowski, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her home. Born June 26, 1925 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late John Parker Darden, Jr. and Ruth Ledbetter Darden. Mrs. Ostrowski was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg and a member of Fleur-de-Lis Garden Club. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Class of 1943 and attended Columbia College. Surviving are three children, Ruthie Neuse Slaton, Raymond Edwin Neuse and wife Debby, and John Darden Neuse and wife Joyce all of Spartanburg; step-children, Ellen Gardiner and husband Bob Sosna of Menlo Park, CA and Peter J. Ostrowski and wife Susan of Carlisle, PA; grandchildren, Tricia Slaton Tankersley and Marc J. Slaton both of Spartanburg, John Darden Neuse Jr. of El Paso, TX, John Schultz of London, England, Eve Ostrowski of Baltimore, MD and Maeve Ostrowski of Carlisle, PA; great-grandchildren, Matthew Slaton, Kaylan Tankersley, Andrew Tankersley, Jacob Tankersley, Brandon Slaton and Johnathon Slaton all of Spartanburg; and two sisters, Belle Darden Griffin and Elizabeth Darden Seebert both of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. L. Craig Foster. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel
