Ruth Ann Peace, 81, of Greenfield, passed away January 22, 2026. She was born in Indianapolis to the parents George and Gladys (Copp). Ruth grew up in Indianapolis and went to Shortridge High School. In 1961, Ruth married her sweet husband, George Peace. They shared 61 loving years of marriage together.
For 25 years Ruth was a cook for Mt. Comfort Elementary cafeteria. She was also a wonderful homemaker.
Ruth spent her life with her loving family, being the best “Granny”, she could be. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandparent. Ruth also created many memories down in Gatlinburg with George and her family. Ruth enjoyed the simple things in life like dining out. Enjoying food with the people she loved gave her great happiness.
Ruth is survived by her sons Jeff Peace and Kenny (Kim) Peace; her granddaughter and the light of her life Kaylee (Evan) Weir; siblings Gloria (Ron) Phillips, Patricia Kilburn.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents George and Gladys Copp; her siblings George Copp, Sylvia Ishmael, and Jeanine Standeford
Ruth will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery in a private service.
