Ruth Press (78) of Holley, NY, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 13, 1947 in Brockport, NY.
Ruth lived a full and happy life. She shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her love, Dave Press. Together, they created a beautiful life centered around family and love. Ruth was the caretaker of the family and the “family cheerleader,” always supporting and cheering on her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.
Ruth enjoyed reading, writing, fishing, visiting her cottage at Black Lake, caring for her grandchildren, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Dave Press; her children, Michele (Michael) Yargeau and David Press; her grandchildren, Nicole Boyle and Evan Press; her sisters, Barb McAllister and Helen Hudson; her brother-in-law Fred (Marilee) Press; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dutch Geyer; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Catherine Press; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Madlyn (Press) and Dave Alvaro, and her brother-in-law James Press.
An intimate ceremony will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ruth's arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY.
