Ruth Ann Reeves, 83, was born April 27, 1941, in Marion, Ohio and later relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she departed this life peacefully to her heavenly home from an ongoing battle to cancer on June 21, 2024, surrounded by her daughter and her grandchildren.
Ruth was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and attended Columbus State Community College. She volunteered as a foster grandparent at the St. Vincent Family Center for over twelve years. She also enjoyed going to church and participating in holy convocations, attending bible study, reading books, trying new restaurants, and simply enjoying nature. She would always say "I'm going to take a bus ride even if it's just to go through downtown, I'm getting up out of here."
She was everyone's favorite. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mentor, helper, guide, and teacher. Most of all, she was an Evangelist always preaching the word of God and giving encouragement to everyone she encountered. There was truly no one like her and she had such an amazing spirit.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert R. Butler and Margaret L. Butler; siblings: Kenneth, Rodger, Lewis, Donald, George, Elaine, and Ethel Butler.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, John Butler; sister, Esther Adams; daughter, Melody Reeves; grandchildren: Aqura Reeves, Armani Worthy, Arthur Worthy, Anartica Worthy, and Payton Caldwell. As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and church members. Ruth will truly be missed by all that knew her.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The family of Ruth Ann Reeves would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered your kind thoughts, prayers, calls, and deeds during this time of bereavement. Your expression of love and kindness will always be cherished. May God bless you all.
