Ruth Yvonne Reid was born June 30, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of Agnew and Estelle Reid. She was the youngest daughter in her
family.
Ruth graduated from Shortridge High School in 1966. She went on to attend Illinois State University.
Ruth was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. She attended the Church of the Apostolic Faith for many years under the pastorate of the late Elder Charles A. Miller. She served as president of the Pastor's Aide Committee and the church treasurer, taught Sunday school, and assisted with organizing various programs which included the Homeless Initiative and Vacation Bible School. She would later join the Philadelphia and Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Churches.
Ruth Yvonne Reid departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the age of seventy-five years.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Anita Hillman (Jerome) and Rowena Bacon (Marvin); brother, Phillip Reid, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Ruth and I first met as young children growing up in the Christ Temple Sunday school. We went to high school and graduated together. I am going to miss her.

Sis. Reid was one of the sweetest people. I thank God for allowing us the time we had with her. A true warrior for the Lord. She is missed! Praying for the family and our spiritual family. ❤

I will always have fond memories of seeing Ruth at cousin Ken & Nell house on holidays. I was always glad to see her. She was a very sweet and kind lady. I will always remember her beautiful smile. Ruth will be greatly missed.
