Ruth Stem Rivers, age 76, of Franklin, TN passed away with her loving family by her side, February 8, 2024. Ruth was born and raised in Franklin, TN and then moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida for 28 years before coming back to Tennessee. Ruth was a self-made and independent lady. She started her career selling Aloette Cosmetics for nine years, then owned and operated Rivers Trucking with her husband Buck.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Buck Rivers; children, Tandy (Tina) Stem, Vickie (Tracy) Barker, Jeff (Dawn) Stem, Mike (Dawn) White and Maribeth (Troy) Byrd; grandchildren, Brian (Shannon) Beasley, Jeff (Christi) Woods, Jeremy (Tracy) Adkins, Justin Stem, Casey (Charlie) Blair, Chris and Cody Brown, Jessica (Dwayne) Plymal, Brandon White, Lindsey Barker, Grady, Macy and Evan White; Mason and Makinna Byrd; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Betty Ambrose, Janice (Walter) McGee and Carolyn Dye. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Cleo Crafton White; her first husband, Thomas Everett Stem; brothers, Presley White and Roy White.
Visitation with the Rivers family will be held 4-8:00PM Sunday, February 11, 2024 and one hour prior to the funeral service being held 1:00PM Monday, February 12, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home, Earl Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Charlie Blair, Tracy Barker, Cooper Ottmers, Roy White Jr., Justin Stem and David Giles to serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cowles Chapel United Methodist Church.
