Ruth Simmons Obituary
Ruth M. Simmons, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Terry A. Simmons, Sr., for 50 years. Born March 3, 1958 in Hartford; the daughter of the late August and Marlene (Chapman) Kozlak.
Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her children. She was a talented artist and creative crafter. She was skilled at painting and whatever creative outlet she attempted. She is already deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Karl Kozlak and companion Brenda Crispin of New Hartford, Michelle Simmons of FL and Terry A. Simmons, Jr., of Northfield; cherished grandchildren, Madelyn Perusse of FL, Joshua Allen and wife Brianna of ME, Kellie Ann Campagne of New London, Tator Simmons and wife Colleen of Melborne and Bella Simmons of Meriden; siblings, Lori D'Angelo and husband Nick of Torrington, Beth Ackjar and husband Richard of Winsted, August P. Kozlak, Jr., and wife Carolyn of New London and Heather Kozlak of New Hartford; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Burial will be held in the spring at a time to be announced. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford has care of the arrangements. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
