Ruth Maxine Simpson, age 91, of Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born on December 28, 1934, in Madison, WI, to Jesse Guy Elliott and Ruth (Huber) Elliott. She was raised in Wisconsin and graduated from high school in Beloit, WI. From an early age, Ruth developed a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility that remained with her throughout her life.
Ruth later married Alan Simpson, and together they shared a life centered on family, dedication, and perseverance. Following Alan’s passing, Ruth continued to live with independence and quiet strength, remaining closely connected to her family and community.
Professionally, Ruth devoted much of her working life to service and care for others. She spent 20 years as a store manager with Braum’s, where she was known for her leadership, reliability, and commitment to excellence. After retiring from Braum’s, Ruth chose to return to the workforce, resuming her career in healthcare as an X-ray Technician at the Indian Health Care Clinic in Tulsa, where she worked from 2008 until 2011. Her decision to return to healthcare reflected her lifelong desire to help others and remain active.
Ruth enjoyed staying mentally engaged and found great pleasure in puzzle books and crossword puzzles. She was a loyal Green Bay Packers football fan and also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and other sporting events. These hobbies brought her comfort and enjoyment, especially when shared with family.
Above all, Ruth cherished her family. She was immensely proud of her children and took great joy in her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, finding happiness in watching each new generation grow.
Ruth is survived by her children, Duane Heinrich of Wichita, KS, Tina Lujan of Arizona City, AZ, Greg Heinrich of Murfreesboro, AR, Jeffrey Heinrich of Coweta, OK, Christian Heinrich of Coweta, OK, David Heinrich of Grove City, OH, and Larry Green of Stillwater, OK; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Fay Elliott, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Guy and Ruth Elliott; her husband, Alan Simpson; and her siblings, Maria Singh, Mary Ellen Elliott, Alice Huyck Losey, Kermit “Bill” Elliott, Jenette Reichoff, and Arlene Hosit.
Ruth will be remembered for her dedication to family, strong work ethic, and the quiet kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Coweta, OK. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
