Cimarron - Ruth Eugenia Stauth, 91, died October 19, 2024 at the Shepherd's Center, Cimarron. She was born on February 7, 1933 at Ensign, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Frankenberger) Newberry.
Ruth moved to Arkansas at the age of 3 months and lived there until 1948. She moved to Ensign and attended Ensign High School. On October 10, 1950 she married Dale E. Stauth at Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Ruth and her husband farmed east of Ensign where they raised their six children. She was active in the farm and was able to operate all of the farm equipment. Ruth and Dale worked hand in hand on the farm and also ran a scrap metal business. She enjoyed her time with all her family and in later years spent many hours with her sister Phyllis. Ruth also loved dogs and cats and would take in many stray animals over the years.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Dodge City and was very dedicated to her church. She could be described by the verse Matthew 25:23 well done my good and faithful servant.
Ruth is survived by her children, Ed Stauth and Roberta of Greensburg, Jeff Stauth and Joan of Offerle, Kathy Jo Johnson and Dave of Emporia, Vickie Woodbury & Ron of Silver Lake, Beth Woodbury of Topeka, and Amy Berry and Dwight of Cimarron, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Newberry of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and sister, Mary Phyllis Speck of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale Stauth, a brother, Thomas Newberry, and son-in-law, Michael Woodbury.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Church of Christ, Dodge City with Mr. Gary Bennett presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from Noon to 7:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
