Ruth M. (Christianson) Thayer, age 78, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Ruth was born on February 19, 1948, the daughter of Gerald and Mildred Christianson, in Superior, WI. She grew up in Janesville, WI, attending Janesville schools. Ruth married Michael T. Thayer in 1966. Michael passed away on December 15, 2023.
Ruth was very active in her church, attending many bible study groups and proudly singing in the choir. She was also a lay counselor and an extremely talented decorator. Ruth worked at First Assembly of God and Bergners Distribution Center.
Ruth is dearly loved and missed by her son Kirtland M. (Cathy) Thayer; grandson Alexander (Meghan) Thayer, granddaughter Kateland Thayer (Ryan Rohrschneider) and 3 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael Thayer, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family would like to offer sincere gratitude to OSF Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion during their time with Ruth.
